Mets vs Phillies, September 19th

I wasn't going to go to any of the games involving the Phillies, because as mentioned, I like my baseball lowkey, and in September 2024, there was nothing lowkey about a Mets vs Phillies fixture. I don't love crowds, I had work in the morning, etc etc...

On the other hand, the regular season was coming to a close, which mean that summer was coming to a close and the cold weather would be arriving. The winter never makes me feel very good. So I figured that I've got to push past any sort of discomfort and go to as many games as I could.

The idea for this Tumblr actually came from this game, because my absolute joy as Vientos, Alsonso, Alvarez and Nimmo homered felt especially heightened, a bit of a weird sensation I guess, and I remember feeling a release from journaling when I was younger.

It was also my first time seeing Diaz's entrance with the new ribbon lighting! I've long been an advocate of The Trumpets because I always loved the whimsy of it. Maybe it was a sign of things to come.
